Rep. Craig Williams has announced the allocation of Local Share Account (LSA) grants for projects in Chester and Delaware counties aimed at supporting economic development and municipal services.
The Delaware County Economic Development Corporation was awarded $198,147 to install three digital kiosks and 64 interpretive wayfinding kiosks across 14 historically significant locations within the Brandywine Battlefield Heritage Interpretation Area. These kiosks will be linked to the Chester County heritage network, providing visitors with virtual exploration options, directions, and additional tourism resources.
Additionally, West Chester Borough received $818,576 to replace a 21-year-old fire apparatus for its fire department. The West Chester Fire Department comprises the First West Chester, Good Will, and Fame fire companies. It serves six municipalities over 27 square miles, relies on more than 200 volunteers, covers a population of 48,000 residents, and responds to about 1,800 incidents annually.
“These LSA grants support projects that deliver real value for our communities,” said Williams. “They strengthen local tourism and economic activity in the Brandywine Valley and support emergency response capacity in West Chester Borough and surrounding municipalities. I appreciate the local leaders who put forward strong proposals and pursued these funds.”
The Local Share Account program distributes a portion of gaming revenue to support economic development, public infrastructure, and community improvement projects in eligible Pennsylvania counties.
