Notre Dame Announces New Upper School Director Erin Pratt

Genbusiness001

Academy-Notre Dame De Namur recently issued the following announcement.

After an extensive search, the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur is excited to announce the appointment of Erin Pratt as the next Upper School Director. Mrs. Pratt received a BS in Comprehensive Science with minors in Women’s Studies and Physics from Villanova University, an MA in Educational Leadership from Immaculata University, and her Principal’s Certification from Drexel University.

She comes to Notre Dame from Friends Select School in Philadelphia, where she serves as Associate Upper School Director and math teacher, and from Merion Mercy Academy in Merion Station, where she served for over 12 years, first as a math teacher, then as Dean of Students. Mrs. Pratt will bring her extensive experience, enthusiasm, and student-centered leadership to Notre Dame when she begins her tenure in July 2022.

Mrs. Pratt provided the following thoughts about her time on campus:

“I realized after spending one day on campus that the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur is a special place. I believe in the value of an all-girls’ education where we can be intentional about programming that supports leadership, identity, and spiritual development that prepares young women to go out into their communities and be agents of change, and I am excited to join this vibrant community where I saw this growth and development exemplified. I thoroughly enjoyed my day on campus, and I walked away feeling energized by the strong sense of community, the committed faculty and strong academic program, and the love the students expressed for their ‘sisters,’ their school, and their teachers.”

Head of School Dr. Laura Hotchkiss shared, "Thank you to the many members of our community who participated in the interview process and provided important feedback that will guide the future for academics and student life. Our community shines forth with students and alumnae whose 'hearts are as wide as the world.'"
