Smile America in-school dental program

Sign up your child today or contact your school nurse for a form or for any questions or concerns.

Penn Delco School District has partnered with The Smile Program: My School Dentist to offer in-school dental care for this year.  Dental exams are mandated by Pennsylvania for grades K/1, 3, and 7.  This program is available for students in grade K/1, 3 and 7 who have not provided proof of a dental exam within the last year.  If we do not have the required dental information regarding your child for this year, you may qualify for this program.

Our in-school dental program saves you time and provides a safe and comfortable place for your child to receive gentle dental care from licensed local professionals.  Dental care includes a complete dental exam, x-rays, cleaning, fluoride and sealants when necessary, and in some cases, restorative care such as fillings.  Even better, this dental care is usually at no cost to you.  All insurance is accepted including Medicaid and CHIP.  For those without insurance, a low cost self-pay option is available.

Children who see a dentist regularly may have fewer health issues like:

  • Early tooth loss due to dental decay
  • Gum disease
  • Heart disease
  • Impaired speech development

  • The dental exams will be held at Northley Middle School on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 during the school day.  Students from all elementary schools will be transported by bus to Northley to have their exam completed.  Please note that Kindergarten students must be transported by a guardian who must be present for the exam.  All parents are welcome to be present for their child’s exam.  Parents must wear a mask in Penn-Delco Schools as directed by the 2022 Health and Safety Plan.

Sign up your child today or contact your school nurse for a form or for any questions or concerns.
