Final Summer Concert and National Night Out on August 3

Concert

Borough of Marcus Hook recently issued the following announcement.

Final Summer Concert and National Night Out!

On Tuesday, August 3, 2021, the Borough of Marcus Hook will be hosting the final concert of the six concert 2021 Summer Music Festival.  The Fabulous Greaseband will be in town performing at Market Square Memorial Park, starting at 7:00 PM.  This final concert goes hand-in-hand with "National Night Out", which is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.  The Marcus Hook Police Department will be on site at Market Square Memorial Park on the 3rd celebrating "National Night Out", along with the Delaware County Office of Behavioral Health and the Public Citizens for Children and Youth.

The Delaware County Office of Behavioral Health, with the Delaware County Prevention & Recovery Coalition will be giving out free Narcan, as well as prevention, treatment, and recovery resources.

The Public Citizens for Children and Youth (PCCY) is a child advocacy organization in Southeast Pennsylvania that runs the Delaware County Lead Poisoning Prevention Coalition, which brings together professionals from health care, social service organizations, and municipal government to protect children from the terrible effects of lead poisoning.  The coalition has two main goals: To remove lead from homes and to ensure all children get tested for lead twice before the age of two.  The coalition is trying to get the word out to families about two free programs in Delaware County that test homes for lead and remove lead, if found.  These programs are available to families with children under the age of six, pregnant women, as well as for caregivers like grandparents who care for children in their home at least 60 hours a year.  Both homeowners and renters are eligible.  There will be information about those programs as well as information for parents whose children have been poisoned by lead. PCCY also has an Insurance Helpline that assists parents in signing their children up for Medicaid or CHIP, for free, over the phone and in any language.

Please stop out to Market Square Memorial Park on Tuesday, August 3rd to celebrate "National Night Out" with the Marcus Hook Police Department and our community guests, and stay for a great send-off to our 2021 Summer Music Festival!
