Pine View Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center was recognized as the second largest nursing home in Delaware County in the first quarter of 2026, data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) shows.

The facility offered 298 beds during this period, exceeding the Delaware County average by 155 beds as of the first quarter of 2026. It served an average of 202.4 residents throughout the quarter.

The CMS awarded Pine View Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center an overall rating of 3 out of 5, matching the average score for nursing homes statewide in Pennsylvania.

For the quarter, Fair Acres Geriatric Center remained the largest nursing home in Delaware County with 778 beds, while St. Francis Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare placed third, offering 273 beds.

As of the first quarter of 2026, Pine View Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center reported no fines or penalties.

Delaware County, Pennsylvania, had a total of 16 for-profit nursing homes during this time.

Estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau show the country’s older adult population is rising while those in younger age groups continue to decline. From 2020 to 2024, Americans ages 65 and older grew by 13%, as the population under 18 decreased by 1.7%. The nation’s older adult segment has expanded rapidly over the last century, growing from 4.9 million in 1920 to over 61 million by 2024.

A 2021 study found that almost half of this demographic, or approximately 28 million people, may require long-term services and support, with projections suggesting more than a third might eventually need nursing home care.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, an insurance education organization. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
