Philadelphia Union has announced the transfer of forward Tai Baribo to D.C. United in exchange for a guaranteed $4 million, with the possibility of an additional $600,000 if certain performance metrics are achieved.

Head Coach Bradley Carnell expressed gratitude for Baribo’s contributions during his time with the team. “We want to thank Tai for his contributions to the club. Tai is a true professional and gave everything he had during his time here,” said Carnell. “At this time, we believe this move is in the best interest of both the club and player. This provides financial opportunities to continue to invest in the team this offseason while providing space for emerging talent on our roster. It also allows Tai to continue the next phase in his career. We wish him and his family all the best in the next chapter of his career.”

Baribo, who joined Philadelphia Union in 2023, made 67 appearances across all competitions and scored 35 goals over two seasons. In 2024, he scored 17 goals and followed that with a total of 20 goals in 2025. He was named to the 2025 MLS All-Star roster and earned MLS All-Star MVP honors after scoring the game-winning goal against LIGA MX All-Stars.

On the international stage, Baribo has represented Israel’s national team, earning 23 caps and scoring four goals.
