Philadelphia Union has signed goalkeeper George Marks to a new contract that extends through 2026, with options for further extensions into June 2027 and the 2027-2028 season.
Head Coach Bradley Carnell commented on the signing: “Since joining the Union in August, George has proven to be a strong, reliable component of our goalkeeper group. His daily competitiveness and commitment elevates the entire team, and we value the role he plays in strengthening our goalkeeper unit as he continues to develop with the team.”
Marks joined Philadelphia Union in August and played three matches for Union II, the club’s MLS NEXT Pro affiliate. In those appearances, he made 17 saves, including a notable 10-save performance against Chicago Fire FC II on September 21, 2025. Before his time with the Union, Marks was recognized for making a quadruple save for Crown Legacy FC against Atlanta United 2, which earned him MLS NEXT Pro’s 2025 Save of the Year. That effort also contributed to his former team winning an extra-point shootout after regulation.
The transaction confirms that Philadelphia Union has secured Marks’ services at least through next season, with options to keep him with the club longer depending on future decisions.
