Philadelphia Union II lost 1-0 to New England Revolution II on May 14 at Kinetic Field at the WSFS Bank Sportsplex.
The match was scoreless through the first half, even after Union II went down to ten men in the 31st minute. Goalkeeper Pierce Holbrook kept the game level with a save against Cristiano Oliveira in the 18th minute. Philadelphia created chances with a blocked shot from Kellan LeBlanc in the 36th and a header by Rafael Uzcátegui that went over the bar in the 43rd.
In the second half, Union Academy amateur Abdoulaye Diop made his Major League Soccer NEXT Pro debut in the 70th minute. Holbrook made additional saves against Oliveira and Carlos Zambrano, but New England scored in the 86th minute to secure victory.
