Philadelphia Union announced on May 15 the schedule and activities for Unity Night, set to take place during the club’s Major League Soccer match against Columbus Crew SC on Saturday, May 16. The event will be held at Subaru Park with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time and coverage available on Apple TV.
Unity Night is presented by Penn Medicine and features a range of pre-game and in-game activities designed to engage fans and celebrate global cultures. Parking lots open at 2:30 p.m., with advance parking passes recommended due to limited availability. Fans are encouraged to download the Philadelphia Union App powered by Theta Network for ticket access, participation in pre-game events, and exclusive offers.
Union Yards will offer food from Café Tinto, Tokio Sushi Truck, Philip’s Steaks, as well as themed cocktails such as the Rio Refresher and Stars & Stripes. Musical entertainment will be provided by The Misphitz during pregame hours. In Subaru Plaza, cultural foods from Colombia and Jamaica will be available starting at 5:30 p.m., with a Brazilian drumline performance scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Additional attractions include a Fan Art Wall celebrating global pride, Kids Club giveaways for app users, opportunities to send messages of support to Danley Jean Jacques ahead of his international representation for Haiti, and digital fan engagement initiatives.
The event also includes a canned food drive organized by Penn Medicine and Philadelphia Union in honor of World Hunger Day on May 28. Fans are asked to contribute non-perishable items at the U-Serve tent located on Subaru Plaza as part of ongoing community volunteer efforts through U-Serve—an initiative connecting supporters with service opportunities across Greater Philadelphia.
Subaru Park gates open at 6:00 p.m., while Union Shop opens an hour earlier offering Unity Night merchandise alongside clearance deals exclusive to this game night. Special cocktails will be served inside the stadium bowl at designated bars during the evening’s festivities which also feature a world flag presentation during procession.
The stadium is recognized as Major League Soccer’s first zero landfill soccer venue thanks to sustainability measures implemented jointly by Subaru and Philadelphia Union since officially achieving zero-landfill status in 2021; more than ninety percent of waste is recycled or converted into energy rather than sent to landfills—a commitment underscored through visible messaging within Subaru Park according to the official website. The team competes professionally in Major League Soccer representing its city while maintaining ties through youth programs and community engagement efforts according to the official website.
